The Malaysia Inland Revenue Board (IRBM) has officially introduced a new electronic invoicing (e-Invoicing) system that applies to all businesses engaged in commercial activities within Malaysia including ZALORA.
Starting 1 January 2026, IRBM will require an e-Invoice for any single order of RM10,000 or more. For these orders, customers must submit their e-Invoice details after checkout. We will not process the order until the e-Invoice form is completed. If the e-Invoice form is not submitted within 3 days, the order will be automatically cancelled.
Here are some important things to take note of:
- Customers can request their e-Invoice from their “My Order” page. It will then be sent to their e-mail address once successfully processed.
- The “Request e-Invoice” button will be available for 5 days after the order status has been marked as “delivered” for all items in your order (that have not been returned or exchanged yet).
- E.g: a customer’s order was delivered on 20/06. Therefore, the customer will be able to request for the invoice only until 25/06.
- Once the timeline has been exceeded, the customer cannot request their e-Invoice.
- The e-Invoice will be available at the order level and can be requested through the ZALORA desktop.
- All information will be stored securely and shared with Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) as part of compliance and regulations, and will not be shared to public.
How to request an e-Invoice:
Go to your “My Order” page and click on any item from the order you want the e-Invoice for.
Scroll down the item page and click on “Request e-Invoice”.
Please provide the necessary information required such as full legal name, NRIC/passport number, income tax number (TIN), shipping and billing address, and SST registration number. Then, follow the on-screen instructions.
If your request is successful, you will receive the e-Invoice in your email within 24 hours. Don’t forget to check your junk e-mail folder too!

4. What is the difference between the ZALORA Sales Invoice and an e-invoice?
The ZALORA Sales Invoice is a form of electronic billing that is used to present and monitor transactional documents. It’s the document we send our customers that lists the products they have purchased. Click here to learn more.
On the other hand, an e-Invoice is the transaction proof document that uses a specific format that contains tax-related information and a QR code validated by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) for tax reporting purposes. Click here to learn more.
5. Why do I need to request an e-Invoice?
The e-Invoice will only be issued to customers upon request as a supporting document/file on their annual tax reporting if required for any tax deduction purposes. All e-Invoices are dated current date and time as mandated by IRBM. Click here to learn more about e-Invoices.
6. What if I accidentally input the wrong personal information?
Unfortunately, if you have input the wrong personal information and are rejected by the IBRM, you will not be able to request an e-Invoice for that transaction again.
7. Can I request another e-Invoice if the previous request has been rejected?
If your request has failed, you will not be able to request an e-Invoice for that transaction again.
8. What if I did not request the e-Invoice within the timeframe given?
Unfortunately, if you have exceeded the given timeframe, you will not be able to request an e-Invoice. The request period for each transaction is limited to only 5 days from the date the order was delivered. ZALORA will not be able to issue the e-Invoice outside the request period.
